The CA1888 is an upgraded version of the Chauvin Arnoux CA1886. It includes all of the functions of the other camera but also comes with improved abilities, making this one of the most comprehensive thermal camera solutions available from Chauvin Arnoux.
Improved Detector Size and Thermal Sensitivity
The detector built into the CA1888 is over twice the size of the CA1886 and is 384 x 288. This means that thermal images generated using this thermal camera are clearer, better presented and it helps improve your thermal surveys.
This thermal camera also sees a bump in overall thermal sensitivity. This stands at 0.05°C at 30°C which means that the camera can spot even smaller temperature differences in the environment.
The field of view of this thermal camera is also improved from 20 x 15° to 24 x 18°.
Unique Design
Although there are other pistol-shaped devices on the market, Chauvin Arnoux CA1888 differs from these devices by including a multi-directional screen that can be positioned as needed in order to get the best overall view of the current object being measured.
The pistol shape of the device means it is incredibly comfortably to hold and operate with just one hand. Capturing a thermal image is also quick and easy - simply point the camera at the point where you need to capture and press the trigger on the back of the device to capture an image.
MixVision
Part of the problem with lower end thermal cameras is that they merely take a thermal image. When looking back at this captured image it can often be difficult to determine exactly what you're looking at, particularly if you're working in unfamiliar environments or are carrying out multiple tests over a day or other time period.
To help users with giving context to their thermal images the Chauvin Arnoux CA1888 included unique MixVision technology. This mode actively blends together thermal and real life digital images, helping users spot the detail and easily determine where the measurement is taken. This mode also includes transparency adjustment which affects the overall level of the blend - a lower percentage, for example, will contain less thermal detail while 100% will be a full thermographic image.
Wide Temperature Range
Working in extremely cold environments or need to take measurements of extreme hot objects? The CA1888 can measure temperature from -20 to 600°C, making this product suitable for both cold and hot applications. All measurements are carried out with high accuracy of ±(2°C or 2%).

Digital Camera
As well as a thermal image the Chauvin Arnoux CA1888 RayCam Thermo/Optical Camera can take a digital image. This helps when creating reports to show exactly where the problem area is and what it looks like.
-
IR Resolution
The Chauvin Arnoux CA1888 RayCam Thermo/Optical Camera image resolution is 384 x 288 pixels. Every additional pixel means more valuable temperature information to isolate problem areas
-
Sensitivity
The Chauvin Arnoux CA1888 RayCam Thermo/Optical Camera has a thermal sensitivity of 30mK NETD. A lower mK value means a more accurate thermal camera.
