How Can The FLIR C2 Be Used In The Classroom?

Suitable for use in both secondary and higher education, the FLIR C2 is suitable for both basic and advanced lessons.

By capturing thermal images, students can clearly see how temperature is distributed over an area with their own eyes, rather than relying on older testing methods such as rubbing hands together to create friction.

An example of this test would be tasking students with rapidly rubbing an eraser on a desk, then observing how heat is generated due to the effects of friction. Teachers can then explain how friction works, backing up their facts with practical examples that students can easily understand.

About FLIR ResearchIR Software

By using ResearchIR, both students and teachers can prepare professional reports based on captured thermal images, study specific temperature measurements from an area and understand temperature in even greater detail.

About the FLIR C2 Thermal Camera

The kit includes a C2 camera as well as a copy of FLIR's ResearchIR specialist software and a tripod mount for hands-free use of the camera. Ideal for use by students, the C2 can be used in a wide variety of practical science lessons where students get hands on time with the camera.

The C2 is a pocket-sized, easy-to-use and low cost thermal camera with a large-size touchscreen, high quality thermal detector and wide temperature measurement range.

The FLIR C2 is MSX enabled. This mode, exclusive to FLIR, extracts the detail from visual images and applies it directly to thermal images, enhancing levels of detail significantly.
