The FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera with Wi-Fi (9Hz) can be used to inspect buildings, infrastructure and electrical and mechanical systems. It is a cost-effective predictive maintenance and/or troubleshooting tool, and may serve as an alternative to IR thermometers.
Thermal Technology
The FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera with Wi-Fi (9Hz) is an upgraded version of FLIR’s E5 Thermal Imaging Camera with Wi-Fi (9Hz), as such it includes an extended temperature range, -20°C to +400°C, and an improved IR resolution, 160 x 120-pixels. The FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera is completely automated and focus-free, adding to its ease-of-use.
The user can select from three colour palettes, black and white, iron, and rainbow, and has a choice of four imaging modes:
- Thermal Blending
- Thermal
- Picture-in-Picture: view a particular point of the image in greater detail without losing the overall field-of-view (45° x 34°)
- Digital Camera: allows the user to capture images using the integrated 640 x 480-pixel digital camera
- MSX®: overlays a digital image onto the thermal picture allowing the user to view objects in greater detail
Ergonomic Design
Like, the FLIR E5 Thermal Imaging Camera, this model is intended for prolonged use in challenging environments. As a result, it features a lightweight, robust design that has been drop tested from 2m.
The FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera also features an intuitive user-interface, navigated using a minimalist keypad, reducing the effort required to operate the IR imager.
Wi-Fi Connectivity
Using the minimalist keypad and the intuitive menus, the operator can transfer thermal images saved on the FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera to a smartphone or tablet (with the FLIR Tools App installed) via Wi-Fi. Images are recorded in JPEG formats and include embedded temperature data ensuring that they are easy to share with colleagues and clients.
Once IR images have been imported into the FLIR Tools App the operator is able to edit and analyse the thermal data as well as create thermography reports. These reports may be sent to relevant persons via email, thereby facilitating collaborative decisions without the thermographer having to leave the field.
It is also possible to download thermal images to a PC via a USB interface.
The FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera with Wi-Fi (9Hz) is an ergonomic, economic and easy-to-use alternative to IR thermometers. It is of particular use to electricians, construction engineers and maintenance technicians.
