Although not technically a thermal camera, the TG165 uses the combined technology of an infrared (IR) thermometer and FLIR's entry-level thermal cameras to create a product that has the benefits of both. The Imaging IR Thermometer measures surface temperature just like a normal IR thermometer, but it also includes a built-in thermal detector that allows it to capture thermal images complete with temperature data.
Up to 75000 individual thermal images can be captured on the camera and stored on the included 8GB SD card. The TG165 is also one of the first FLIR instruments to benefit from Lepton core technology, a new thermal detector that's smaller, more cost-effective and helps to reduce the cost of instruments while making them smaller, easier to use and more detailed than ever before.
The thermometer is also designed in a similar fashion to FLIR's thermal cameras; it includes an LCD screen for viewing back images, includes a trigger for capturing and is pistol-shaped for comfortable, ergonomic grip. Dual-laser pointers are built into the tester for precise lining up of measurements and it also includes a tripod-mount for extra stability when you're capturing data.
