The Pulsar Axion Key XM22 Thermal Imaging Scope is a compact, rugged and power-efficient infrared monocular. It is ideal for hunting, scouting and spotting applications.
Thermal Imaging
The Pulsar Axion Key XM22 Thermal Imaging Scope’s powerful optic lens and professional-grade, 320 x 240px IR sensor with 12µm pixel pitch provides it with a long detection range and higher optic magnification. This thermal imaging monocular is able to detect a 6ft/ 1.8m object at 950m in total darkness; it has a magnification range of 2-8 (x4 zoom).
In addition to this, the Pulsar Axion Key XM22 Thermal Imaging Scope includes the following thermal imaging features and functions.
Colour Palettes
The user is able to choose from eight selectable colour palettes. These palettes can be used to optimise the Pulsar Axion Key XM22 Thermal Imaging Scope for the environment and/or highlight particular aspects of the thermal image.
The Pulsar Axion Key XM22 Thermal Imaging Scope features the following colour palettes:
- White Hot
- Hot Black: ideal for detecting wildlife at night
- Red Monochrome: prevents bright backlight from entering the eyepiece
- Sepia: ideal for long-range observation
- Red Hot: enhances temperature differences
- Rainbow: enhances temperature differences
- Ultramarine: enhances temperature differences
- Violet: enables the user to identify objects faster
Picture-in-Picture Function
This function can be used to magnify a particular aspect of the image without losing the Pulsar Axion Key XM22 Thermal Imaging Scope’s overall field-of-view. The highlighted area is displayed in a smaller image at the top of the picture.
The Pulsar Axion Key XM22 Thermal Imaging Scope has an overall field-of-view of 10° x 7.5°.
Ergonomic Design
The compact design of the Pulsar Axion Key XM22 Thermal Imaging Scope provides the user with a comfortable grip and allows him/her to operate the IR monocular using a single hand. Moreover, its small construction and light weight (250g) means that it can be easily transported in a standard-size pocket. Its lightweight design also makes it suitable for long hunting applications and ensures it easy to transport over great distances.
Ensuring that the Pulsar Axion Key XM22 Thermal Imaging Scope remains compact and lightweight, whilst providing it with structural rigidity and protection against rugged environments, is its magnesium alloy housing. This infrared monocular is also IPX7-certified: it is protected against heavy precipitation such as rainfall and snow. It will remain functional after submersion in three feet of water for thirty minutes.
Power-Saving
Preserving the monocular's battery power and thereby extending its operating time is the Instant Start-up function. The Pulsar Axion Key XM22 Thermal Imaging Scope’s revolutionary electronics ensures that it will power on rapidly, therefore the user can leave the IR imager switched off until the moment it is required, conserving energy.
The Pulsar Axion Key XM22 Thermal Imaging Scope is powered by a B-pack mini power system consisting of rechargeable, field-replaceable mini B-pack batteries. The batteries can be recharged using a charger station or a USB connection.
