The Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope is a compact, high-performance infrared imager with an array of imaging functions. It is ideal for hunting, scouting and spotting.

Thermal Imager

The Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope can detect and display slight temperature differences even in environments/ situations with low thermal contrast, for example on cold mornings or in rain or fog. This means that the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope provides perfect detail recognition despite challenging weather conditions.

To this end, the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope is equipped with a 384 x 288 @ 17µm thermal sensor with a NETD 40mk thermal sensitivity. Additionally, this sensor, combined with the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope’s powerful F38/1.2 objective lens, equips the IR monocular with a detection distance of up to 1350m (for a 1.8m-tall object), even in total darkness.

The Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope also has a refresh rate of 50Hz and a field-of-view of 9.8° x 7.4°.

Full-Colour HD AMOLED Display

The full-colour HD AMOLED display supports the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope's fast frame rate, ensuring that the user is able to view fluid thermal imaging with a high-resolution and a crisp, vividly coloured, richly contrasted field-of-view.

Furthermore, the full-colour HD display’s AMOLED technology also conserves the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope’s battery life.

Imaging Modes, Functions & Tools

Image Boost Technology

To enable better and easier object identification, the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope’s Image Boost technology utilises software algorithms to enhance image sharpness, clarity and detail throughout the field-of-view.

Variable Digital Zoom

The hunter can alter the focus and adjust the field-of-view as required by using the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope’s variable digital zoom which spans 3.5x to 14x.

The zoom can be adjusted in steps of 2x or continuously. Altering the zoom continuously allows the user to change the field-of-view to suit the application. The maximum digital zoom, 14x, facilitates better object recognition at significant distances as it improves the monocular's focus.

Picture-in-Picture Function

This function allows the user to zoom in on a specific area, object or target without compromising the overall field-of-view. The magnified image is displayed in the top-centre 10% of the field-of-view.

Colour Palettes

The Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope features eight selectable thermal colour palettes which can be used to adapt the thermal monocular for various applications:

  • White Hot
  • Hot Black: detect wildlife at night
  • Red Monochrome: prevents backlight from escaping the eyepiece
  • Sepia: improves long-range observation
  • Red Hot: enhances temperature differences
  • Rainbow: enhances temperature differences
  • Ultramarine: enhances temperature differences
  • Violet: identify objects faster

Observation Modes

Similarly, the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope’s Observation modes optimise it for use in different environments with varying ambient temperatures, e.g. mountains, forests and cities. The Observation modes are comprised of pre-programmed settings.

Additionally, the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope includes an Identification Preset mode which improves the ease of identifying objects at significant distances.

Stadiametric Rangefinder

The Stadiametric Rangefinder can be used to determine approximate distances to objects with known heights, for example, deer (1.7m), wild boar (0.7m), and rabbits (0.3m).

Video and Still-Photo Recording

Users can capture thermal footage and images by pressing the REC button. Thermal media is saved to the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope’s integrated 16GB memory.

Wi-Fi Module & Android/ iOS Compatibility

The Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope includes a built-in Wi-Fi module which facilitates a connection to iOS or Android smartphones or tablets. The user can stream, share and download thermal images and videos to his/her smartphone or tablet and can upload firmware updates to the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope via this connection.

Lightweight, Rugged, IPX7 Housing

The Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope has been designed for long, outdoor applications during all seasons. To this end, it features a lightweight magnesium alloy housing which provides structural rigidity and ruggedness.

Moreover, the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope has an IPX7 waterproof rating, making it suitable for use in rain and snow. The Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope will remain completely operational even after submersion in up to 1m of water for approximately thirty minutes.

B-Pack Mini APS5 Battery System

To enable continual observation with minimal interruption, the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope’s rechargeable Li-Ion battery can provide up to six hours of power from a single charge. Furthermore, its quick-change design means that, should it become necessary, the battery can be replaced quickly and easily.

Moreover, to conserve power and extend the battery’s life, the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope starts up instantly.

Finally, the user can connect a power bank to the Pulsar Axion XQ38 Thermal Imaging Scope via a USB Type-C socket to serve as an external power source.
