The Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is a premium thermal imager in a traditional-style aircraft-grade 30mm-tube. It is optimised for professional hunters; please see the video below for further information regarding this sophisticate, superior, state-of-the-art IR riflescope.

Thermal Imaging Technology

The Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope provides superior thermal imaging and is specifically designed to enable hunters to see more and in greater clarity and detail. To this end it includes a 320 x 240-pixel microbolometer sensor with a 12µm pixel pitch; this, combined with its high germanium optics, provides the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope with a 5.8° horizontal field-of-view and a detection range of 1700m. The Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is able to detect heat signatures across this range even in complete darkness.

Additionally, the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope has a magnification range of 4.0 to 16x improving focus and target recognition at greater distances. Furthermore, the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s HD, full-colour, AMOLED display also improves the clarity of IR images and footage: it provides sharp, high-contrast, vividly coloured images that allow the user to identify animals, the extremities of animals, and environmental details such as branches, leaves, grass and terrain providing the user with a greater awareness of his/her surroundings. Additionally, the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s AMOLED technology also conserves power.

The user is able to view the details most relevant to him/her using the Picture-in-Picture mode and selectable colour palettes. The PIP mode allows the hunter to highlight 10% of the overall field-of-view which is magnified and viewable via a small box at the top-centre of the image. The user is able to focus on this section of the thermal footage without losing the overall FOV, making Picture-in-Picture mode particularly useful when determining precise shot placement.

The colour palettes also allow the user to alter the image in order to suit the application. The Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope includes traditional and popular colour palettes such as White Hot and Black Hot. However, it also features Red Hot, Rainbow and Ultramarine for highlighting the most intense areas of an animal’s heat signature, and includes Violet, Red Monochrome and Sepia for reducing eye fatigue, ensuring that the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope can be used comfortably over extended periods of time.

Furthermore, it is possible to save up to five zeroing profiles with ten distance coordinates in each allowing the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope to be adapted as necessary. This facilitates quick rifle change-outs and in-the-field adjustments.

Video and Image Capture and Streaming

The Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is able to record infrared images and footage. It has a 16GB memory ensuring that it is able to store hours of videos and thousands of thermal images: IR videos are saved in a MPEG-4 format, images are saved as .jpg files.

It is possible to stream footage and images to the user’s smartphone or tablet using the Pulsar Stream Vision App and the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s Wi-Fi capabilities. In addition to functioning as a second display, the user’s smartphone or tablet can be used as a second control and provides remote access to the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s controls and features via the app and Wi-Fi.

Ergonomic and Easy-to-Use Design

Recording, saving and streaming thermal images, as well as accessing the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s many features and settings is made simple by its three-button user-interface.

Additionally, the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is recoil rated up to .375, 2-gauge and 9.3x64 ensuring that it is suitable for use with larger calibres. It is easy to attach and remove and can be mounted onto standard 30mm scope rings without the need for specialist tools and equipment.

This IR riflescope is also compatible with a number of Pulsar customisable reticle options in various colours: black, white, red and green. It is also compatible with scalable ballistic style reticles.

Longevity, Durability and Practicality

Adding to the ergonomics as well as the practicality, versatility and durability of this thermal imaging riflescope is its lightweight, rugged, reinforced all-metal design. It is IPX7 certified and able to withstand precipitation including snow and rainfall making it suitable for use in all seasons. Moreover, the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope will remain fully functional even after submersion in up to three feet of water for thirty minutes.

Moreover, the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is equipped with a dual battery system consisting of an internal and external battery. This system prolongs the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s battery life; the external battery can be accessed and replaced easily.

Furthermore, the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope has an instant start-up which also preserves battery life. The riflescope may be left switched off until required, thereby conserving its battery life without risking a miss.

Finally, the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope has been designed with longevity in mind: it will support future software containing new features and functions intended to improve performance.

The Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is a simple-to-use, state-of-the-art, superior IR riflescope optimised for professional hunters.
