The Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is ideal for hunters tracking large game. It is an IR scope suitable for use with large calibre firearms.

Rugged, Practical Design

As mentioned above, the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is suitable for use with large calibre rifles, this is because it has high recoil resistance rating: 12-gauge, 9.3x64, .375 H&H shock resistance. It is able to withstand recoil energy up to 6000 joules. This improves the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s versatility.

Also adding to the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s versatility is its durable, waterproof design. It is suitable for use in a range of rugged outdoor environments in all seasons. As the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is IPX7 certified, it will remain functional even after submersion in 1m of water for up to thirty minutes, therefore, it is able to withstand heavy precipitation such as intense rain and snow. Furthermore, the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope has a wide operating temperature: -25°C to +50°C.

With regards to its operating time, the progressive, autonomous B-pack power supply, which consists of a quick-detach, rechargeable IPS55 5 A-h battery pack, is able to provide up to eight hours of power in maximum mode. Useful functions, such as Display Off,  also work to extend the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s battery life. The Display Off function conserves power by switching off the display during periods of idleness. As the Display Off function does not affect other operating functions, the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope can be restarted rapidly when required.

Please note that the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is also compatible with 3x AA battery cases and higher-powered IPS10 battery packs.

Thermal Imaging Technology

In addition to a versatile, practical and adaptable design, the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is equipped with sophisticated thermal imaging technology and functions designed to improve target detection, identification and aim.

It features a 384x288px thermal sensor with a 17µm pixel pitch, a 9.8° horizontal field-of-view, and a detection range of 1380m. The Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s high image frequency (frame rate: 50Hz) ensures that motion (such as fast-moving game) remains fluid and viewable in real-time, thereby improving the accuracy of speed assessments and shot placement.

The Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope also includes a range of thermal imaging functions that work to improve precision, efficiency and ease-of-operation.

Three Zeroing Profiles

As previously mentioned, the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope has been designed for use with a variety of firearms. To facilitate quick rifle change-outs and in-the-field adjustments, up to three zeroing profiles with five distance coordinates in each one can be saved to the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38. This means that the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope can be adjusted quickly and easily to suit different weapons, ammunition-types, environments and distances-to-targets.

Integrated Laser Rangefinder

Designed for determining precise shot placement, the integrated laser rangefinder will calculate and display the distance from the thermal scope to the target. This tool is accurate to ±1m for up to 1000m and can be used in two modes: Scanning and Single Time Measurement. When tracking moving game, the laser rangefinder can be used in Scanning mode as it enables the user to adjust the rifle quickly to accommodate for changing distances.

Built-in Accelerometer/ Gyroscope

The built-in accelerometer/ gyroscope will detect and display tilt and angles greater than 5°. The direction and degree of lateral tilting are indicated by an arrow. The Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope can be programmed to shut-down when it is in a non-shooting position and/or when a vertical angle of 70° or more and/or a horizontal angle of 30° or greater is detected.

Selectable Reticle

To ensure quick target identification, the user is able to choose from a complete selection of digitally displayed reticle options. He/she can choose from a variety of reticle patterns, colours and brightness settings allowing the shooter to alter the sight picture to ensure that it is richly contrasted.

Variable Magnification

The variable magnification also allows the user to enhance/ zoom-in on particular areas and/or details within the image. The Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope has a magnification range of 2.1-8.4x.

Picture-in-Picture Function

Using this function, the user can magnify the reticle area without losing the overall FOV. The magnified area is indicated at the top of the display in a small box 1/10 the size of the display.

Integrated Video & Sound Recording

Capture thermal images and videos using the REC button and save them to the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s internal memory. This IR riflescope can also be set to begin recording automatically when placed in Recoil-Activated Capture mode.

Using a wireless or wired connection, saved thermal images and videos can be transferred to a PC or laptop. Alternatively, thermal footage can be streamed to the user’s smartphone or tablet via a Wi-Fi connection and using the Pulsar Stream Vision App.

Pulsar Stream Vision App

In addition to facilitating the wireless transfer of infrared images and videos to the user’s smartphone/ tablet, the Pulsar Stream Vision App can be used to stream IR videos directly to YouTube and in real-time.

Moreover, the Pulsar Stream Vision App can be used to update firmware and control the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope remotely.

Easy-to-Use

The easy-to-read, icon-driven, alpha-numeric status bar, located at the bottom of the display, ensures that the Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is easy-to-operate. It is possible to simultaneously monitor the weapon scope’s settings and the target as the internal menu items and options are indicated on a contrasting gradient substrate.

The Pulsar Trail LRF XQ38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is an adaptable, durable, and versatile infrared scope optimised for use with large calibre rifles and suitable for tracking large game.
