The Seek Thermal Compact XR Android USB-C Smartphone Thermal Camera transforms the user’s Android smartphone into a thermal imaging camera. It need only be plugged into the micro USB-C port of a compatible Android smartphone* and used with the FREE Seek Thermal App (available from Google Play) to capture thermal footage and images. The Seek Thermal Compact XR Android USB-C Smartphone Thermal Camera can be used to detect overheating components and sources of damp; however, its narrow field-of-view (20°) equips it with a longer detection distance, 550m, making it particularly well suited to outdoor hunting and security applications.

The Seek Thermal Compact XR Android USB-C Smartphone Thermal Camera’s adjustable focus and thermal resolution of 206 x 156 pixels also makes it suitable for hunting and security applications as it can be used to capture high-quality, clear thermal images and footage. Additionally, this IR camera has a quick start-up time, ensuring that it is always ready when required.

Using the Seek Thermal App the operator can capture, save and share infrared images and videos, as well as adjust colour palettes and settings such as the measurement mode. The Seek Thermal Compact XR Android USB-C Smartphone Thermal Camera is able to measure temperatures between -40 and 626°F/ -40 and 330°C and can be set to either °C or °F mode.

Finally, this small and rugged IR imager is powered by the connected smartphone. As a result, the Seek Thermal Compact XR Android USB-C Smartphone Thermal Camera does not need to be charged prior to use. *Notes on Compatibility

Please note that not all Android smartphones and tablets are compatible with the Seek Thermal Compact.

Smartphone Case Compatibility

In some cases, thicker smartphone cases (especially ruggedized ones) will not provide enough clearance around the connection port. To use the camera you must either remove the case or attach the camera using an extender or adapter (sold separately).

Please note that the Seek Thermal is designed for use with smartphones with a micro-USB slot running at least Android 4.3. Therefore it has not been tested but may work with many other HTC, LG, Sony Xperia and some Galaxy Tab models.

*Please note that Samsung phones, such as the S8 are supplied with adaptors which are not OTG enabled. Therefore you will need a separate adaptor with OTG (On The Go) capability in order to connect this Thermal Camera to your device.

NOTE: Android devices sometimes orient the micro-USB connector in different directions or locations. For correct usage, the USB port should be located on the bottom, with the widest portion of the port aligned with the back of your smartphone. Many LG and HTC devices orient the connector in the opposite direction, and many devices from Sony and Motorola often position the port on the side. In these cases, it is recommended to use a micro-USB cable or adapter to allow proper aiming and positioning of the camera (sold separately).
