Lenses
The aforementioned lenses can be used interchangeably to adapt the Testo 890 Thermal Camera for various applications:
- 7° x 5.3° Super-Telephoto Lens: provides a small field-of-view for maximum resolution of very distant objects
- 42° x 32° Standard Lens: provides a large field-of-view making the Testo 890 Thermal Imaging Camera ideal for inspecting closer objects
- 25° x 19° Standard Lens: ideal for preventative maintenance applications
- 15° x 11° Telephoto Lens: capture clear images of objects at a medium- to long-distance from the Testo 890 Thermal Imaging Camera
Thermal Imaging
The Testo 890 Thermal Camera has a thermal sensitivity of <40mK enabling it to detect and display slight temperature differences. Moreover, its 640 x 480px IR resolution provides 307 200 measurement points; the Testo 890 Thermal Camera’s IR resolution can be increased to 1280 x 960px using SuperResolution technology.
In addition to this, the Testo 890 Thermal Camera includes an integrated digital camera with power LEDs for capturing well-lit visible-light images. These pictures can be saved alongside thermal images to improve the ease of documentation and assignment. Thermal images can be saved as JPEG files to the Testo 890’s SD card; it is possible to add voice annotations to these files using the supplied headset.
SiteRecognition technology also improves the ease of documentation: the Testo 890 Thermal Camera recognises locations and will automatically assign and archive footage according to the detected location.
Measurement & Imaging Functions
The Testo 890 Thermal Camera also features the following measurement and imaging functions:
- Mould Measurement mode: this function determines and indicates the risk of mould using a traffic light system (red, yellow, green); it compares the surface temperature, measured by the Testo 890, to the dewpoint which is calculated by entering the ambient temperature and humidity; an OPTIONAL radio humidity probe can be used to transfer ambient temperature and humidity readings to the Testo 890 automatically.
- Panorama Image Assistant: a panoramic picture is created by combining individual images; this allows the user to capture thermal images of entire building shells without having to compile and/or assess each image.
OPTIONAL Features
The following ADDITIONAL features can be purchased with the Testo 890 Thermal Camera:
- FeverDetection function: identify individuals with elevated skin temperature
- Process Analysis Package: record radiometric thermal footage to a PC at 33Hz and log data for up to three points on the image; please see the videos below for further information
