Practical Learning In The Classroom

It’s hard trying to visualise what you can’t see, teaching it can be even harder, but with the addition of the FLIR C3 to a classroom you open up a whole new way of teaching. Demonstrate difficult concepts with ease to the student, using full-colour thermal images and cover thermal concepts such as:

Packed with Technology

The small pocket sized thermal camera is packed with features to make lessons fun and informative and has a bright 3” intuitive touchscreen with a full menu system and produces thermal images of 60 x 60 pixels. As well as a thermal camera on the back, you will also find a visible camera, used for identifying the object you want to take a thermal image of easier. You will also find FLIR’s patented thermal MSX technology which overlays an image over the thermal image to give greater detail and instantly recognise where the heat source is.

FLIR C3 is fully radiometric so students can analyse data and pull out individual temperatures from 4800 pixels ranging from -10°C to 150°C

Various viewing modes make it even easier to find what you’re looking for; with the area measurement box, you can instantly find the hottest or coldest areas of the image.

How to connect the FLIR C3 to an iPhone or Android Smartphone 

Wifi Connect to iPhone

  1. On the FLIR C3 select “Settings”, then open the “Wifi Settings” and select “Share”.
  2. Now open the Wifi Settings on your iPhone and you should be able to see a Wifi Network “IRCAMxxxx”, pair to this network.
  3. Now swap to the FLIR Tools app and you will be able to transfer images.

 Wifi Connect to Android

  1. Enable the hotspot function in your Android phone (this can be done by going to the settings in your Android phone and turning on the "hotspot" function—usually called "mobile hotspot" or "portable hotspot". Set a password for the hotspot connection.)
  2. On the FLIR C3 select “Settings”, then open the “Wifi Settings” and select “Connect to Network”.
  3. Scroll down the FLIR C3's screen to “Networks” and search for the Wifi name of your phone's hotspot (enter a password if necessary).
  4. Now swap to the FLIR Tools app and you will be able to transfer images.
