Did you know with certain FLIR cameras you can actually do even more with your images by using your iPad?

FLIR Viewer

FLIR has an app known as FLIR viewer currently available that allows you to wirelessly communicate to certain FLIR thermal cameras using either an iPad or iPhone.

The app allows users to interact with the thermal images taken by a thermal camera, and you can then add measurement spots, change the palette and even email or create reports based on the thermal image you’ve received. It’s a really intuitive way to use your thermal images and analyse them on other devices. It’s certainly well worth checking out on the App store!

Other thermal camera apps are available on the market, but these are generally a lot worse than conventional thermal cameras. The apps say they replicate the true effects of a thermal camera, but in practice, devices such as those from FLIR are much more efficient for countless applications around the globe.

FLIR devices are currently used in everything from electrical maintenance to assessing the cracks of space shuttles during missions. If you have a thermal camera from FLIR, we’d advise you check out this app and see if it improves your thermal image capabilities at all.

The cameras compatible with the software are FLIR’s T620, T640 and E-series (E40, E50 and E60) cameras.
